We are coming to the end of our slower season-around the margins we are seeing folks knitting or crocheting in anticipation of cooler weather while perhaps still at the beach or taking the last trips of summer.
We use this time to restock, renew, restore and also refresh our inventory, bringing in or completing colors or lines. Some of our new yarns won't be in til around Labor Day but this means we need to move stuff around...and also out. So news for the day is that we will have our Semiannual Clearance Sale at the end of the week-Friday, August 22 through Monday, August 25th. (Sunday, we'll be open 10AM-2PM.) We will be saying goodbye to some summer yarns as well as discontinued yarns, a few leftovers or end-of-dyelots-nothing currently in the shop. You know the rules of the road by now: once it's gone, it's gone. No special orders, and no, I can't tell you what will be on sale because I'm not 100% certain until the morning the sale begins. All sales are final. No winding yarns until Tuesday morning and no printing patterns-we're just too busy. We might not be able to answer the age-old question "What can I make with this?" so it's best to be prepared.
We're also going to have our next Thursday night Knitalong beginning September 4th for the Glow sweater; detail are below.

The next knit night will be in-store, Wednesday, August 20th, from 7-9PM.
Knit the Rainbow is suspending donations for the season. We'll collect again in the early Fall.
ONGOING AT KNITAPESTRY: Knit Night- 1st three Wednesdays of each month, 7-9PM.
Knit the Rainbow-suspended till early Fall.
Ridgecrest donations-YARN ONLY. Please, no needles; no bits and bobs or small scraps; please consider your donation if you're in a household with a smoker or pets; and also, no books.
Please check out our website for the latest projects and offerings at: http://www.knitapestry.com

Knit the Rainbow is a charity dedicated to helping at-risk LGBTQ youth. We'll be a drop-off location for garments for this group. (And no, items don't have to be rainbow-colored!) DONATIONS SUSPENDED FOR THE SEASON.
"Knit the Rainbow (KtR) was founded in April, 2020 after the Founder, Austin Rivers, discovered the housing disparities facing LGBTQ+ youth in New York City. Austin learned there were a few nonprofits dedicated to providing housing and/or shelter for this community; however, he knew there was still more to be done; this is where KtR was born.
Austin learned to knit while performing on a tour in Japan and felt he could use these skills to provide warm protective winter garments for LGBTQ+ youth facing homelessness. KtR hopes to educate people across the country about the housing crisis these youth are facing and increase the number of youth served by asking volunteers to knit or crochet at home and donate the garments to KtR to be distributed in New York City and Chicago."
